On May 27, 2000, all of Quebec is saddened by the loss of a true hockey legend, Maurice Richard. More than 115,000 fans make their way to the Molson Centre to pay their final respects to “The Rocket”. A larger-than-life hero and giant of the game, the Canadiens’ famed No. 9 becomes the first Quebec athlete to receive a state funeral.
