POLLOCK SELECTS LAFLEUR
On June 10, 1971, at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canadiens General Manager Sam Pollock shows his knack for mining young talent by adding two future Hall of Famers to his club in a single day. After snagging Guy Lafleur with the first overall pick in the 1971 NHL Entry Draft, Pollock wisely selects defenseman Larry Robinson at No. 20, laying the foundation for a decade of dominance.

Over the course of their respective careers, Lafleur and Robinson rise to the top of the charts for all-time leading scorers in their respective positions.
