The Anaheim Ducks – known as the Mighty Ducks until 2006 – were brought into the NHL by Disney in 1993. Unlike most expansion teams, Anaheim had a respectable debut season, posting a 33-46-5 record.
The Habs first faced Southern California’s second NHL team at the Forum on October 23, 1993, emerging with a 4-1 win.
The Canadiens and Ducks, Stanley Cup winners in 2007, have never met in the postseason.
