The Calgary Tigers played in four different leagues between 1919 and 1927, most notably as a founding franchise of the Western Hockey League. In 1923-24, after defeating the Vancouver Maroons, Calgary’s first professional hockey team faced the Canadiens for the Stanley Cup. It was the only time the teams met.
The best-of-three final, with all games slated for Montreal, didn’t go the distance. The Canadiens rode a Howie Morenz hat trick to a 6-1 victory in the opening match before inadequate ice at the Mount Royal Arena forced the series to conclude in Ottawa.
Sweeping the series with a 3-0 shutout in the second game, the Canadiens won the second Stanley Cup in team history.

Longest winning streak - 2 (22/03/24 to 25/03/24)
