The second coming of the Ottawa Senators made its NHL debut in 1992-93, nearly 60 years after the original team, around from 1918 to 1934, folded. As it often is with most expansion teams, the Senators found themselves at the bottom of the NHL standings with a 10-70-4 record in their first season.

The Canadiens and Senators first met on October 8, 1992 in the nation’s capital, Ottawa’s inaugural matchup. The Habs lost the game 5-3.

The Habs and Senators, Stanley Cup finalists in 2006-07, have never faced off in the playoffs.
