The Toronto Tecumsehs joined the National Hockey Association to begin the 1912-13 schedule and spent three years in the league, changing their name twice in that time, first to the Ontarios and then becoming the Shamrocks for their final campaign.

Never a power on the ice, they changed hands with every name change, finished last in their first two NHA seasons and fifth in the six-team league in their last year, closing up shop at the conclusion of 1914-15 .

The first game between the Tecumsehs and the Canadiens was played on New Year’s Day, 1913, with the visiting Montrealers ending the evening on the winning side of a 4-3 score.

The teams never met in the postseason.
