Bill Collins made his NHL debut with the Minnesota North Stars in 1967-68 where he spent the first three seasons of his career in the league. He was traded to the Canadiens on Jun. 10, 1970, in exchange for Jude Drouin. He played 40 games with the Habs during their 1970-71 campaign, recording six goals and two assists. He was traded to Detroit on Jan. 13, 1971, along with Guy Charron and Mickey Redmond in exchange for Frank Mahovlich. Collins also enjoyed stints with the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals before ending his NHL career in 1977-78.
