William Sutherland played with the Canadiens for two games in their 1962-63 playoff campaign, recording no points. After several season as a member of the American Hockey League’s Quebec As, Sutherland’s rights were transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers in June of 1967. Sutherland holds the distinction of scoring the first goal in the history of the Flyers organization on Oct. 11, 1967. He also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, St. Louis Blues, and Detroit Red Wings over the course of his career in the NHL.
