Hailing from Trois-Rivières, Quebec, goaltender Robert Perreault was traded to the Canadiens from the American League’s Providence Reds in exchange for George McAvoy on June 11, 1953. He played six games with the Habs in the 1955-56 season during which he posted three wins, three losses and a tie. Perreault also played for the Red Wings and the Bruins during his time in the NHL. In the American League, he won the Calder Cup in 1957-58, 1958-59, 1965-66 and 1967-68. On Feb. 12, 1972, the Los Angeles Sharks selected him as part of the expansion of the World Hockey Association.
