Originally from Green Bay, Newfoundland, defenseman Brad Brown was the Canadiens’ first-round pick and the 18th overall selection at the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut with the Habs on Jan. 11, 1997 against the Boston Bruins at the Molson Centre, and would play seven more games for the team that same season. After suiting up for the Canadiens again for five games the following season, Brown was traded to the Blackhawks on Nov. 16, 1998, along with Jocelyn Thibault and Dave Mason, in exchange for Jeff Hackett, Eric Weinrich, Alain Nasreddine and a fourth-round pick at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Brown also enjoyed stints with the New York Rangers, the Minnesota Wild and the Buffalo Sabres before retiring from the NHL in 2004.
