After making his debut with the Maple Leafs during their 1960-61 campaign, Cesare Maniago was picked up by the Canadiens as part of the intra-league draft on Jun. 12, 1961. In Jacques Plante’s absence, Maniago played 14 games for the Habs in 1962-63, posting a record of 5-5-4. He was traded to the New York Rangers on Jun. 8, 1965 along with Garry Peters, in exchange for Noel Price, Earl Ingarfield, Gord Laboissiere, Dave McComb and financial compensation. Maniago also played for the Minnesota North Stars and the Vancouver Canucks during his time in the NHL.
