Hailing from Longueuil, Quebec, goaltender Claude Evans was called up from the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Hockey League on November 13, 1954 to replace the injured Jacques Plante. Evans played four games with the Canadiens in the 1954-55 season, during which he posted a record of one win and two losses. He would also go on to play for the Boston Bruins for a single game in 1957-58.
