Clayton Fréchette played as both a defenseman and left-winger with the Canadiens in the National Hockey Association when the Hamilton Alerts sold his rights, along with James Roy’s, to the Habs on Feb. 13, 1913. He played two games with the Canadiens – one in 1912-13 and the other in 1913-14, being held off the scoresheet on both occasions.
