Craig Conroy was the Canadiens sixth-round pick and the 123rd overall selection at the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on Feb. 15, 1995 against the Hartford Whalers, before scoring his first goal in the league the following day against Mike Richter in a game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Conroy played four more games with the Habs that same season and another seven the next year before being traded to the Blues on Oct. 29, 1996. He was traded to St. Louis along with Pierre Turgeon and Rory Fitzpatrick, while Murray Baron, Shayne Corson and the Blues’ fifth-round pick in 1997 (Gennady Razin) made their way to Montreal. In a career that saw him play 1009 games in the NHL, Conroy also enjoyed stints as a member of the Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames. He announced his retirement on Feb. 4, 2011.
