Hailing from Castro Valley, California, center Craig Ferguson was the Canadiens’ seventh-round pick and the 146th overall selection at the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 3, 1993 against the Washington Capitals, and scored his first point the following day against the Boston Bruins. Ferguson played one game with the Habs during their 1994-95 campaign, as well as 10 the next season before being traded to Calgary along with Yves Sarault on Nov. 26, 1995, in exchange, for the Flames’ eighth-round pick in 1997 (Petr Kubos). Ferguson also played for the Florida Panthers before playing his last game in the NHL in 1999-00.
