Hailing from Barrie, Ontario, defenseman Darryl Shannon was the Maple Leafs’ second-round pick and the 36th overall selection at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Following his time in Toronto, he went on to play for the Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers and Calgary Flames before eventually signing as a free agent in Montreal on Sept. 25, 2000. Shannon played the last seven games of his 544 game NHL career as a member of the Canadiens.
