Desmond Roche’s rights were sold to the Canadiens by the Boston Bruins on Dec. 8, 1934. He played five games with the Habs during their 1934-35 campaign, recording a single assist. Roche stands as one of only three Canadiens players to ever wear the number 99. The Habs eventually sold his right to the International Hockey League’s Buffalo Bisons on Dec. 26, 1934. Roche also spent time as a member of the Montreal Maroons, Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Eagles and the Detroit Red Wings during his time in the NHL.
