Born in St. George, Ontario, defenseman Donald Johns was traded to Montreal by Chicago in return for Bryan Watson on June 9th, 1965. He played only one game as a Canadien in 1965-66, scoring no points. Montreal sold his rights to Minnesota on Oct. 5th 1967. His first four years in the NHL, from 1961 to 1967, were spent as a member of the New York Rangers.
