Hailing from Saint-Éphrem, Quebec, left-winger Éric Bertrand was the New Jersey Devils’ eighth-round pick and the 207th overall selection at the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. After stints with the Atlanta Thrashers, Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators, Bertrand signed as a free agent with the Canadiens on Jul. 7, 2000. He played his three finals games in the NHL as a member of the Habs in 2000-01, recording no points.
