Francis Bélanger was the Philadelphia Flyers’ fifth-round pick and the 124th overall selection at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on Feb. 15, 2001. Bélanger would make his NHL debut only two days later, on Nov. 17 against the Washington Capitals, dropping the gloves against Rob Zettler. In his single stint in the NHL, Bélanger was assessed a total of 29 penalty minutes over the course of 10 games. He left the Montreal organization in August of 2002, going on to sign with Anaheim as a free agent.
