The Canadiens’ third-round selection and the 75th overall pick at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, defenseman François Beauchemin played his only game with the Canadiens on February 27, 2003, against the Minnesota Wild. Beauchemain disputed 17:11 of ice time, putting one shot on net and wrapping up the Canadiens 6-3 loss at the Bell Centre with a minus-1 differential. He was claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets on September 15, 2004. Beauchemain also played for the Anaheim Ducks, with whom he won the Cup in 2007, and with the Toronto Maple Leafs for two seasons before returning to Anaheim in February of 2011.
