François Groleau was the Calgary Flames’ second-round pick and the 41st overall selection at the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. After a short stint within the Quebec Nordiques’ organization, Groleau signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on Jun. 17, 1995. He made his NHL debut on Apr. 3, 1996, helping the Habs take on the Bruins at the Molson Centre. Groleau scored his first point in the league the following day in another game against the same Boston squad. He went on to play six other games as a member of the Canadiens over the next two seasons before leaving to continue his playing career in Germany.
