Gerald Diduck was the New York Islanders’ first-round pick and the 16th overall selection at the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the New York organization in 1984-85, going on to play the next five seasons as an Islander before being traded to the Canadiens on Sept. 4, 1990 in exchange for Craig Ludwig. Diduck played 32 games with the Habs, during which he recorded one goal and two assists. He was traded to Vancouver on Jan. 12, 1991 in return for the Canucks’ fourth-round pick in 1991 (Vladimir Vujtek). Diduck also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Hartford Whalers, Phoenix Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars before retiring from the NHL in 2000-01.
