Originally from Pembroke, Ontario, defenseman Gordon Fraser won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Western Canadian Hockey League’s Victoria Cougars during their 1924-25 season. The Detroit Red Wings sold his rights to the Canadiens on Oct.10, 1929. He played a total of 10 games with the Habs during their 1929-30 campaign, racking up four penalty minutes in that time. The Canadiens traded him to the Pittsburgh Pirates’ in exchange for Bert McCaffrey on Dec. 23, 1929.
