Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Guy Charron made his NHL debut with the Canadiens, playing five games for the team during their 1969-70 campaign. He played 15 games with the Habs the following season before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings on Jan. 13, 1971, along with Mickey Redmond and Bill Collins in exchange for Frank Mahovlich. Charron participated in the All-Star Game as a member of the Washington Capitals during the 1976-77 season, also going on to play for the Kansas City Scouts. He became an assist coach for the Canadiens during the 2000s.
