Originally hailing from Montreal, Harold Murphy played his only game with the Canadiens on November 8, 1952, arriving on loan from the Quebec Hockey League’s Montreal Royals to replace the injured Gerry McNeil. Murphy logged a victory, allowing four goals in the Habs 6-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the Forum.
