Jocelyn Lemieux was the Blues’ first-round pick and the 10th overall selection at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the team in 1986-87, playing 53 games for St. Louis as well as another 23 the following season. He was traded to the Canadiens on Aug. 9, 1989, along with Darrell May and the Blues’ 1989 second-round pick (Patrice Brisebois), in exchange for Sergio Momesso and Vincent Riendeau.
Lemieux played his first games with the Canadiens – his only one that season – on Oct. 6, 1988, while his brother Claude was also in the team’s lineup. Both brothers managed to post an assist before the night was done. Lemieux played another 34 games with the Habs the following season before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 5, 1990 in exchange for their third-round pick that same year (Charles Poulin). He also played for the Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes before leaving the NHL in 1997-98.
