Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, right-winger John Adams’s rights were sold to the Canadiens on May 13, 1940 by the Pacific Hockey League’s Vancouver Lions. In his only NHL season, Adams recorded six goals and 12 assists in 42 games. He was traded by the Canadiens to the American Hockey League’s Buffalo Bisons on Jan. 14, 1946 in exchange for Murdo Mackay and Moe White. He went on to win the Calder Cup with the Bisons at the end of that season.
