Hailing from Sydney, Nova Scotia, defenseman John Hanna was traded to the Canadiens by the Rangers on Jun. 13, 1961, in exchange for Albert Langlois after spending three seasons with the New York franchise. He played six games with the Habs during their 1963-64 campaign and was assessed two penalty minutes in that time. His NHL rights were transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers in 1967 where we went on to play 15 games in their inaugural season.
