Hailing from Quebec City, Quebec, Martin Barry played the last year of his Hall of Fame career as a member of the Canadiens in 1939-40, recording four goals and 10 assists in the span of 30 games. Before joining the Montreal organization, he had already won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings in 1935-36 and 1936-37, in addition to being named to the NHL All-Star Team and being awarded the Lady Byng Trophy. Barry also played for the New York Americans and the Boston Bruins during his time in the NHL. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1965.
