Originally from Uherske Hradiste in the Czech Republic, defenseman Miroslav Guren was the Canadiens third-round pick and the 60th overall selectionn at the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 10, 1998 against the New York Rangers at the Molson Centre. He went on to play nine other games with the Habs that same season. Guren began the following campaign again with the Canadiens, playing 24 games with the club before being released to the Quebec Citadelles of the American Hockey League. He played one more season in the AHL before continuing his career in Europe until 2009-10.
