Paul Runge made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins during their 1930-31 campaign. Following a short stint with the Montreal Maroons, he was traded to the Canadiens on Dec. 6, 1933 in exchange for Stan McCabe. Runge played three games with the Canadiens that season, and another 12 in the next before leaving the team to rejoin the Boston organization on Dec. 24, 1935. Only a few months later, the Bruins traded him back to the Canadiens and after four more games with the club in 1936-37, he was traded to the Maroons on Dec. 3, 1936 in exchange for Bill MacKenzie. Runge ended his NHL career with the Maroons in 1937-38.
