Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, right-winger Perry Ganchar was the St. Louis Blues’ sixth-round pick and 113th overall selection in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to Montreal in exchange for Ron Flockhard on August 26, 1985. He played his only game with the Canadiens on October 31, 1987, against the Boston Bruins, scoring a goal in a 3-3 tie. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on December 17th of the same year for future considerations.
