Hailing from Bentley, Alberta centre Perry Turnbull was the St. Louis Blues’ first-round pick and the second overall selection at the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Following three-and-a-half seasons spent with the Blues, he was traded to Montreal on Dec. 21, 1983, in exchange for Doug Wickenheiser, Gilbert Delorme and Greg Paslawski. Turnbull played 49 games with the Habs in their 1983-84 campaign, during which he recorded seven goals and nine assists. He was traded by the Canadiens to Winnipeg on Jun. 13, 1984 in exchange for Lucien Deblois. Turnbull went on to play for the Jets for three seasons before returning to St. Louis to dispute the last campaign of his NHL career in 1987-88.
