Hailing from Flin Flon, Manitoba, right-winger Reid Simpson was Philadelphia’s fourth-round pick and the 72nd overall selection at the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Flyers on Apr. 12, 1992 against the Hartford Whalers. He also went on to enjoy stints with the Minnesota North Stars, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning and St. Louis Blues before finally landing in Montreal after signing as a free agent with the Canadiens on Sept. 10, 2001. Simpson played 25 games with the Habs during their 2001-02 campaign, recording one goal, one assist and 63 penalty minutes. He was claimed off waivers by the Nashville Predators on Jan. 28, 2002, and went on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2003-04. Simpson continued his career in the Minors and then in Russia until 2010.
