Rick Wilson was the Canadiens’ fifth-round pick and the 66th overall selection at the 1970 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Habs on Feb. 3, 1974 against the Detroit Red Wings. Wilson played 20 of the Habs last 30 games in their 1973-74 campaign, recording two assists. He was traded to the St. Louis Blues on May 27, 1974 along with the Canadiens’ fifth-round pick in 1974 (Don Wheldon), in exchange for Glen Sather and the Blues’ fourth-round pick (Barry Legge). Wilson finished his NHL career with the Red Wings in 1976-77.
