Rob Ramage was the first-overall selection at the 1979 NHL Entry Draft and was drafted up by the Colorado Rockies. After three seasons in Colorado, Ramage went on to play for the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames – with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 1989 – Toronto Maple Leafs, Minnesota North Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning. He was traded to the Canadiens on Mar. 20, 1993 in exchange for Éric Charron, Alain Côté and Donald Dufresne. Ramage played eight regular-season games with the Habs as well as seven more in the playoffs, helping the team win their 23rd Stanley Cup. After playing another six games for the Canadiens in 1993-94, he was traded to the Flyers on Nov. 28, 1993 in return for financial compensation. Ramage retired from the NHL at the end of that season.
