Hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick, Scott Fraser was the Canadiens’ ninth-round pick and the 193rd overall selection at the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut against the Red Wings on Nov. 28, 1995. Fraser played another 14 games with the Habs during their 1995-96 campaign, recording two goals. He was traded to the Calgary Flames on Oct. 24, 1996 in exchange for David Ling and Calgary’s sixth-round pick in 1998 (Gordie Dwyer), despite never dressing for a game with the Flames. Fraser also played for the Edmonton Oilers and the New York Rangers during his time in the NHL.
