Sean Shanahan signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on Aug. 20, 1973. He played four games with the Habs during their 1975-76 campaign, recording no points. Shanahan was traded to the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 13, 1976, along with Ron Andruff in exchange for financial compensation. He finished his NHL career with the Boston Bruins in 1977-78.
