Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, center Thomas Smith won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Quebec Bulldogs in 1912-13. He was traded to Toronto on Dec. 21, 1914, returning to Quebec just over a month later. His rights were then sold to the Canadiens on Jan. 7, 1917. Smith played 20 games with the Habs during their 1916-17 campaign, recording 11 goals and four assists.
