Wayne Hicks was traded to the Canadiens by the Chicago Blackhawks on May 30, 1962 in exchange for Al MacNeil. He was claimed by the Bruins as part of the intra-league draft a few days later on Jun. 5, 1962. Hicks eventually found himself back in the Canadiens fold when the Bruins sold his rights back to the Montreal franchise on Sept. 28, 1963. Hicks played two games with the Habs during their 1963-64 campaign, recording no points. His rights were then transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers on May 8, 1967 as part of their purchase of the American Hockey League’s Quebec club. Hicks also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks during his time in the NHL.
