Hailing from Lafontaine, Quebec, Yann Danis was never actually drafted into the NHL. He signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on Mar. 19, 2004. In 2005-06 he played six games with the Habs, during which he registered three wins and two losses. Danis posted a shutout in his first-ever NHL game, accomplishing the feat on Oct. 12, 2005 against the Atlanta Thrashers, with the Canadiens winning the game 3-0. During his time in the NHL, Danis also played for the New York Islanders, the New Jersey Devils and the Edmonton Oilers.
