Born in Randolph, Ontario, defenseman Harold McNamara was traded by Ottawa to the National Hockey Association’s Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 27, 1916, in exchange for Jack Fournier. He played two games with the Habs in 1916-17, recording no points. Harold’s brother, Howard McNamara, captained the Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup in 1915-16.
